Event Description

Tara and Darren from Hagerstown Vegan Meetup have invited us to their potluck. Here is what Tara wrote on the Hagerstown site:

"T’is the season to be vegan!  Come celebrate the warmth of the holidays and compassion for all! We know this is Christmas Eve day, so many of you might be busy with family gatherings or last minute shopping. But, we'd like to invite those of you without plans to come join us for a mid-afternoon meal of some tasty plant-based food and great company! A holiday vegan potluck has become a tradition for our family and part of what makes the season feel so special. Community is the best gift!

* This is a family-friendly gathering and kids are welcome!

WHAT TO BRING

Note: We will provide salad, drinks and a raw vegan dessert.

* A healthy whole foods vegan or raw vegan dish containing no animal products (no meat, egg, honey, bone char processed sugar, or dairy), avoiding highly processed ingredients or additives, to serve at least eight to ten people.

* An ingredient or recipe card for your dish, to help those with allergies or food sensitivities choose accordingly.

* If possible, bring along your own place setting (plate, bowl, cup & silverware), to ensure we have enough to go around without using disposable stuff.

* Any resources or ideas you would like to share with the group.

* Holiday cheer!

NOTE: If you have an idea what dish you'd like to bring, recipe suggestions, or anything related to this potluck gathering, please feel free to use the comments section for the event to connect with other attendees.

Thanks! We look forward to seeing you!

Whether you are just curious about vegetarianism or you are a veg veteran and wish you knew more veg*ns in the area, come share a great meal and expand your veg social circle! We are a supportive group where we can openly discuss dietary issues, environmental and health concerns, and social challenges. We welcome your input and ideas for discussion topics or meeting ideas related to a veg*n lifestyle."
