Event Description
Event hosted by Bangkok Vegan Meetup.

Please consider joining this Facebook Group ‘Animal Advocates in Thailand’ if you are interested in donating your time, knowledge or skills to helping animals.

THIS IS A REPEAT MEETUP that will happen every Tuesday.

Meet for a casual run together after work. No matter what your level of fitness is, a casual chat about plant based eating while doing a couple of evenly paced laps around Bangkok's iconic and beautiful Lumpini park with like minded, smiling, peace loving friends sounds like a good plan. It's fun and informative to share advice and tips to improve our fitness and maintain a plant based lifestyle, whatever anyone's individual goals.

Come and build some camaraderie with people with like-minded interests, but above all have some fun! Afterwards a few of us usually pick out one of the many excellent nearby vegan restaurants to go for a meal.

To find us, just follow these simple steps (sorry the pics are a bit blurry)

1. Take the MRT to Silom and come from out from Silom MRT at the Lumpini Park exit:

2. Head inside the park though the mail gate pedestrain entry

3. turn right onto the main running path, going the same way as the runners

4.  Walk (or run) a short distance, looking out for the change rooms, currently under reconstruction where there is a temporary toilet bus on the track

5. Meet friendly and funloving vegan runners where there's a park bench and a leelawadee (hibiscus) tree just opposite where the bus is parked

Everyone can go at their own pace and beginners are welcome. :-) No matter if you are aiming for your first 0.5km or your next ultramarathon, you can train for your goals in a fun supportive environment.

For those people coming straight from work, lockers will be available for 5 baht.

Inspiration for the group comes from the group's founder, Kim who has been running for many years and completed events from the 5K up to 100K. She has won several events here in Thailand and is always looking for a new adventure. She has a wealth of knowledge about training, gear, nutrition and other tips to help you achieve your running goals. it's a good idea to wear suitable clothes and bring your own water (and refillable container). Plastic bottled water and the usual range of electrolyte drinks are available in the park but then be thinking about the marine animals before you buy one of them :'(

Please note: RSVPs will be accepted up until the event starts.

We are looking for new organisers for the Bangkok Vegan Meet Up! Sadly, Shari will be leaving Bangkok in June and Jennifer recently moved. So we need your help to take the Bangkok Vegan Meet Up to the NEXT LEVEL!!!

There are so many events that we want to do, but sadly the current organisers just don’t have the time to fit them all into their schedule! We need YOU to help the Bangkok Vegan Movement grow bigger!

Being involved as an organiser is fun, social and incredibly rewarding. Please note, if you have business or commercial interests and would like to use the Bangkok Vegan Meet Up platform as a way to promote and advertise these interests, please contact Brighde or Shari for ways you can do this.

If you are known to the current organisers, you are a reliable, organised person and are interested, please contact Brighde and Shari (the current organisers). If you aren’t known to us but would like to be more involved, join us at a couple of Meetups so we can get to know you!

We are looking for some people to take responsibility for and host regular meetups and help with administration and helping making vegan living more accessible here in Bangkok and promoting veganism.

Here are just some of our ideas that we need people for!

Monthly Vegan Drinks

Helping Ommera with the monthly Move and Breakfast Meet Up

Someone with a suitable venue for a more regular vegan potluck

Hosting film / documentary screenings

Translation of English in to Thai and vice versa to help grow resources for activism and outreach purposes

Activism events (including street activism)

Restaurant Meetups

Family Events

Getting guest speakers when they are in town

Picnics

Out of town excursions

We are not limited to these ideas. Feel free to contact us if you have something you’d like to do.

A WORD FROM OUR SPONSOR

Energaia

In 2050 we will be about 9.5 millions people on earth and we will miss space and resources to feed everyone correctly. That's why we believe that growing spirulina through urban farming can be a solution to face environmental challenges. We propose Fresh Spirulina instead of spirulina dry powder in order to keep all the Spirulina nutritional values intact with a better taste experience.
