Event Description
This is a London Vegan Meet up event ~> RSVP at Meet up ~> https://www.meetup.com/londonvegan/events/248029056/ or here! :)
PLEASE NOTE; I'll be holding a Sign so you should be able to find us easily at the turnstiles ~ Do bring Walking Boots, maybe a brolly ; if the weather forecast looks dreadful for that day, I will announce way ahead of time, maybe a week before, if I will cancel & maybe suggest we go to a cheap buffet lunch place somewhere in London, if anyones still keen to meet up, but all being well, we'll go! :) *
Join me for a day trip out of London! We're just a short train journey away from the countryside & historic city of St Albans! :)
Timings of the day ;
11am to 11:25am
Gathering at the Thameslink turnstiles, St Pancras Station ; pre buy your train ticket here ( Going to St Albans City Station at £8.90 cheap day return ) ~> Thameslink railway.com/tickets , or buy on the day from the machines or ticket office near where we will gather ; if lost/confused on entering St Pancras, please ask a member of station staff if needing a pointer as to where the Thameslink entrance is :) We will be opposite a flower shop :)
11:25am We will head through the turnstiles, to the Platform to give ourselves enough time to get the 11:34am train to St Albans ; this is a quick 20 minute journey!
With our cheap day return tickets, we can get any train there, going, & coming back later!
If for any reason we are running late, we can get ...
The 11:40am, & if we miss that, there are trains every 5 or so minutes, but ideally we'll get the 11:34am which brings us into St Albans just before midday! :)
A short walk from the station...
There's a very old market at St Peters Street where I've learnt we will find plenty of vegan options & highly recommend sweet treats!
Half an hour in the other direction down Hatfield Road, is The Green Kitchen ( www.thegreenkitchen.co.UK ) a little Vegan cafe I've also heard good things about! This is an adventure for me too as I've not been back to St Albans since a school trip to visit the Roman museum, I think nearly 20 years ago!
There is a very old Cathedral, there is the lovely Verulamium park, with Roman Museum & there's the Hertfordshire countryside to explore, plus plenty of options for dinner ( Pizza Express, & Wagamama ; I'll look up other options too ) & pubs to explore, & trains every few minutes back to London, so join us for the full day or head home anytime :) I fancy thoroughly exploring & then finding a cosy pub to end the day with a few drinks then a train home anytime :)
I'm looking forward to exploring !
See you there!
Jess :)
