Event Description

The VSDC LGBTQ+ Group is heading to dinner and a movie on October 21!

October 19-22, the DC LGBT Center will host the Real Affirmations Film Festival, DC’s International LGBTQ+ Film Festival, and Monthly Film Series.  This year the Center has lined up a terrific assortment of films.  Our Meetup will view “Saturday Church,” a film that tells the story of a 14-year old boy, struggling with gender identity and religion.

The movie is 5-7 PM at the Gala Hispanic Theatre (3333 14th St NW).  You must purchase a ticket to attend the movie, which you can do here.

Tickets are $12 (plus a $1.60 fee). Purchase your tickets soon to avoid sellouts.  We will meet outside the theatre and walk in together.  Look for Brandon in the green VSDC shirt! RSVPs are capped at 20 to make sure we do not have more people signed up than there are tickets available.

After the movie, we will head over to PHO 14 (1436 Park Rd NW) for dinner.  There are many vegan choices, including garden rolls, vegan pho, and vermicelli.  Click here to see the full dinner menu.

Please RSVP to let us know you are coming.  If your plans change, update your RSVP.  This is very important because the restaurant must have an accurate count in order to seat us properly.

Transit Options:  Metrorail Yellow/Green lines to Columbia Heights Metro Station.  2-minute walk to Gala Hispanic Theatre.  Street parking is available but limited.  Be sure and read all signs. Metro is recommended. If you have questions, contact your host, Brandon.
