Event Description
Event hosted by Nashville Animal Advocacy.

The Pig Preserve, located in Jamestown, TN, is a pig sanctuary dedicated to caring for pigs from all walks of life. It is exceptional among pig sanctuaries because they try to offer as much freedom and autonomy for their pigs as possible, giving them more space per pig than many other sanctuaries.

Rich, the director of the Pig Preserve, would like a group of volunteers to come help out. We will most likely be helping with feeding and cleaning the farm. This is a great opportunity to come and tour the facility, meet the pigs, and help our friends trying to make the world a safer place for piggies!

On our last visit, we were able to accomplish many farm chores to help out Rich and Laura and the pigs. Of course we spent a lot of time hanging out with the pigs too! Let's try to make this trip just as productive. Please note that we are requesting a $5 donation from each participant to cover the cost of gas and (vegan) lunches. Please give your $5 to Amy or Tricia before the event. Any money raised above the cost of the food and gas will go to the Pig Preserve.

We will be carpooling from Nashville at 8 am CST, and arriving at the Pig Preserve around 10:30 or 11. We will meet at Tricia's house at 1815 Cephas St, or we can pick people up if necessary. There is limited driveway parking and ample street parking. If you would rather meet us at the Pig Preserve, it's located at 199 Ike Blevins Jr. Road, Jamestown, TN 38556.

Please be sure to dress appropriately for the task and weather! Rich suggested work gloves, boots, and work clothes that you don't mind getting dirty or torn. NAA will provide lunch for those that volunteer. If you have special dietary restrictions (other than veganism, as all lunches will be vegan), please let us know. We will likely stay at the sanctuary until around 4 or 4:30, so we should be home around 6:30.

Please be aware that this event may be cancelled or moved due to weather conditions, so please be on the lookout!
