Event Description

Lynn Cuny, Founder and President of Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation, will speak at the annual World Farmed Animals Day Banquet organized by The Hailey Foundation.  Please join the San Antonio Vegetable Eaters for this event along with Hailey Foundation, San Antonio Vegan Society and Voice for Animals on Sep. 26, 7:00pm at India Palace in San Antonio.

Wildlife Rescue is the amazing 212-acre sanctuary in the beautiful Texas Hill Country near Kendalia. While known for its large variety of animals such as bears, large cats and canidae, the facility since its early days has included rescued farmed animals such as mules, donkeys, pigs, cows, sheep, turkeys, ducks and chickens. Lynn will discuss how these animals are unique, intelligent and sensitive, and explain how the sanctuary cares for them.

Lynn is the recipient of several awards, including the Today’s Woman Award from the San Antonio Light, the Headliners Award from the Association of Women in Communication, and the Outstanding Woman of the Year Award from the San Antonio Express-News. She is the author of Through Animal’s Eyes: True Stories from a Wildlife Sanctuary, published by the University of North Texas Press in 1999, and the sequel, Through Animals’ Eyes, Again: Stories of Wildlife Rescue, published in 2006.

Please join us for this dinner at 7:00pm on Sep. 26 (a Tuesday) at the banquet room of India Palace on 8474 Fredericksburg Rd. @ Wurzbach Rd. (northwest San Antonio, north of Loop 410). There will be a full vegan buffet for $17.00 (which includes soda, tea, dessert, tax & tip). Please RSVP not simply on this page but at [email protected] to ensure that you have a seat!
