Event Description

note that the extension from Fisterra (B) up north along the coast to Muxia is not outlined in the map below but will be on our adventure. PLEASE NOTE YOUR RSVP HERE DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU A SPOT. You will be required to register on the Professional Guide/Support site; comply with their rules, paperwork completion and deadlines; are responsible to pay them directly for your deposit and ongoing payments. I know small (specified) deposit is required to book and hold a reservation so they can begin securing accommodations. Then final payment is due approximately 8 weeks before the start of the hike so we have lots of time to plan and budget, but it will go by before you know it! You may save a little more $ if you want to share a room with someone.

When you register you will get all the info you need to keep up to date with details and deadlines related to the event; you will also be able to let them know any dietary or other special requests. I will begin planning coordinated flights about 2 months beforehand when everyone is paid in full. We will be picked up from the Santiago De Compostela airport and brought to our first hotel and starting point for the hike.

Unknown Details: We have not yet committed to any professional Guide/Tour/Hiking company. WHEN WE FINALIZE WHICH TRAIL/COMPANY, you will need to return to the final choice site to register and secure with your deposit. Dates are not confirmed but planned; if we can be a little flexible by a day or two on either side, that may facilitate better prices - especially for airfare. It is possible that we may join other participants on the professional tour, so this meetup will be open to all adults (internationally known/traveled hike - may include non vegan participants - but that always provides teachable moments! ); and sorry, no kids.

Expenses: plan to budget for:

Hike: approximately (US) for 6-7 days; should include breakfast, dinner, transfers, lodging, hiking necessities ie maps, etc. We can usually extend our stay the night before and/or after but would cost additional.  We will have to let them know in advance regarding nutritional/dietary needs - my past experience traveling to Europe is that the guides do fairly well especially in speaking the language to specify vegan or other dietary needs; however, I am also in the habit of being as prepared as possible myself in advance by purchasing vegan items that pack and carry easy on the hikes or send to the next location ahead of me.

Airfare: this is the big one - plan on approx (US); it's hard to gauge right now because especially international flights are much more expensive this far in advance. Anyone with experience and suggestions to help get the best price let me know!
