Marty Krutolow is a beloved member of our meetup group, but I gotta tell you -- and I didn't think this was possible - his all-vegan VBurgers are maybe even more beloved. I mean, if any of you have gone to the recent vegan markets, food festivals, expos in recent years, there is one vendor with the longest line: Marty's VBurger! I happen to LOVE his burgers, and all his other food items: mac n cheese, crabby patties, drumstix and fries. And his VBurgers most of all. Did you know that Marty created his own VBurger from scratch? UNLIKE many other vegan restaurants that will cook you a frozen burger of some large company's design? I love the flavor, texture and everything about Marty's original and one-and-only VBurgers! And you can't get them anywhere except directly from Marty.

For years, Marty's VBurger has been a darling of vegans and non-vegans alike. The burgers and other fast-food items have been a staple of vegetarian food events, non-vegetarian food events, and outdoor food markets all over New York CIty. For much of that time, our beloved Marty was planning and building his own permanent location. Now it has finally arrived, and his hordes of fans finally have their new permanent clubhouse!

One other thing about Marty: he keeps his prices reasonable and low. That's part of his business plan. He's not looking to be a high-end place with high-end prices.  His prices are even lower than your typical mid-to-low-price vegan burger joint.  His prices are about the lowest in the vegan burger restaurant space, but the flavor and quality are among the highest, in my opinion. This is a place where you can eat affordably every day.

For our new members: this is an incredibly friendly and welcoming group. Come have dinner with us, and you can get to know all our wonderful members.

Train Directions: Take the 6 train to 28th Street, or take the B, D, F, M, N, R, or Q trains to 34th Street.

Marty's VBurger is small. We'll be both inside and outside his place. We'll be standing and eating (in front of Marty's) until about 7:00pm. At 7:00pm we'll walk over to nearby Madison Sqauare Park and hang out there. My personal plan is to arrive at 6:30, purchase two burgers, eat one standing in front of Marty's, and eat the other over at Madison Square Park. I'll be making stops back at Marty's at 7:45 and 8:30, to pick up any later arrivals and walk you over to the park.

I've been looking forward to this event for years and Marty and I have been talking about it for years.  Many of you have experienced Marty's VBurger and know what I am talking about, and those of you who haven't will have the opportunity to.
