Event Description
Event hosted by Catskill Animal Sanctuary.

Roll up your sleeves and join Chef Sara in the kitchen for a special hands-on knife skills class! If you’ve ever longed to slice and dice your way through a mountain of veggies with speed and efficiency, this class will give you all the skills and know-how you need to succeed. First, you’ll learn all about knives: how to choose them, how to hold them, and how to keep them sharp. Then you’ll learn a variety of different knife cuts and practice your new skills on an assortment of fruits and vegetables. In the last hour of class, you’ll join Sara in cooking up four delicious vegan dishes with the fruit and veggies you’ve prepared. With these new skills under your belt, meal prep will be a snap!

Note: There is an optional materials fee of $20 which covers the cost of an 8-inch Mercer chef’s knife and Swiss vegetable peeler, both of which are yours to keep! If you’d prefer not to include the knife and peeler set, the registration for the knife skills class alone is $80. You'll have the option to add the knife and peeler to your order when you register for class.

You’ll learn how to make:

  • Vegetable Stir-Fry

  • Creamy Butternut Squash Soup

  • Zesty Lime and Pineapple Slaw

  • Citrus Salad
