For California Convergence 2017 - we are uniting to create a better world for animals and to make animal liberation happen in our lifetime. This year, PETA, SAVE, and DxE are coming together to talk, train, bear witness, and protest, here in Berkeley for California's Convergence. -- SPEAKERS: Ingrid Newkirk (PETA) - PETA president and cofounder Ingrid Newkirk has led the world’s largest animal rights organization for more than 35 years. Her passion and dedication to making this world a better place for all living beings has inspired countless others to do what they can to help animals.

Amy Jean Davis (SAVE) - Amy Jean Davis is an organizer with the Los Angeles Save Movement, leading weekly vigils at the largest slaughterhouses in Los Angeles (Farmer John's). Amy is also a musician, actress, and a producer. Jane Velez-Mitchell - Jane Velez-Mitchell is nationally known TV journalist and best-selling author. Winner of four Genesis awards from the Humane Society of the United States. Jane Velez-Mitchell covers crimes against people, animals, and the environment. She is known for speaking up for the voiceless! Wayne Hsiung (DxE) - Wayne is co-founder of the global animal rights network Direct Action Everywhere (DxE) and lead investigator in the DxE Open Rescue Network. His work as an investigator has been reported on in The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. --

What is Convergence? Convergence is a weekend long event in which activists from local cities converge in one area to do exciting actions, trainings, and community building for animal rights. -- California Convergence Tentative Schedule: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20th: 10 AM - Open Rescue Training (Berkeley Animal Rights Center)
