RACE FOR A CAUSE
This year, the Tofurky Trot will include the option for every runner to set up their own fundraising page on Crowdrise to raise money for three fantastic vegan organizations:
Factory Farming Awareness Coalition (FFAC), the main organizers of the 2017 Tofurky Trot. FFAC is dedicated to empowering people to help save animals, the environment, and our own health through our daily food choices. FFAC provides holistic presentations on the ecological and social justize hazards of animal agriculture to schools, community groups, faith communities, and businesses across the country.
Vegan Outreach. Vegan Outreach promotes vegan living by distributing information at colleges, festivals, and other venues throughout the world and by providing support for interested people through their website.
Kindred Spirits Care Farm. Kindred Spirits' mission is to promote compassion, cooperation, and connection to the earth, animals, and each other through sustainable care farming. Located at John Wooden High School, a continuation school for at-risk youth in a low-income area, Kindred Spirits offers students a unique opportunity to form meaningful connections with rescued animals and learn organic vegetable gardening.
As if raising funds for amazing organizations weren't enough of a reward, there will also be fantastic prizes for the top 2 fundraisers!!
GRAND PRIZE: The person who raises the most money will win a two-night vacation at the Stanford Inn by the Sea vegan eco-resort, and a two-year subscription to VegNews Magazine
RUNNER UP: The person who raises the second-highest amount of money will win a two-year subscription to VegNews Magazine
