Event Description
Are you concerned about climate change and future generations? Do you want to change how we interact with our gardens ecosystems and human communities?
The course will be taught by Graham Burnett (Dip. Perm Des). Graham has been teaching permaculture since 1998, is a holder of the Diploma in Permaculture Design and author of Permaculture A Beginner’s Guide and the Vegan Book of Permaculture. He runs Spiralseed, an ethical venture working in partnership with others who share concerns around social environmental justice. He has been vegetarian since 1977 and vegan since 1984.
Applying permaculture design thinking to your lifestyle and garden, this workshop will focus on design skills – learning to see patterns in nature and in human and social contexts. It will give us the tools and confidence to take responsibility for our lives and actions whilst ‘doing least harm’ to our earth and her inhabitants, whether human or non-human.
This course will give participants;
Ability to define the term ‘permaculture’
Ability to give a number of examples of permaculture systems in action
Ability to describe a number of examples of interconnections in human and natural systems
Ability to state the ethics and principles of Permaculture
Ability to set personal permaculture-based design goals
Experience in practicing permaculture design processes and methods
Who is this course suitable for?
Open to all – no previous knowledge or experience necessary.
