Event Description
Animal Protection Heroes,
The Humane League has just launched a HISTORIC campaign against McDonald's! In both the NY Times, and in the Chicago Tribune, THL is speaking up for millions of animals that are in McDonald's supply chain. THL-Boston is appreciative of your continued support for animals in joining together in a peaceful protest against McDonald’s in Cambridge on Sunday, May 13th! After the demo, we’ll be heading over to Veggie Galaxy for an early dinner, in case you want to join in on fun times with new friends! Logistics for the demo below:
*At 2:45 we'll be meeting right next door of the McDonald’s in Central Square at the People's United Bank: at 485 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139*
Location is a very short walk from the Central stop on the Red Line.
Dress Attire: Business/casual preferred, jeans, skirts, etc.
▪️ About our protest
No need to bring anything—we'll provide all the materials you need (posters and pamphlets)
Our protest style is professional and silent. We will line the public sidewalk outside of McDonald’s with alternating signs and maintain a serious composure as customers and pedestrians pass. We will have specific people on the ends of the protest line designated to answer any questions.
We will all be holding our signs level to each other with alternating images to maintain professionalism.
A volunteer or two will be leafleting with pamphlets about our campaign.
We'll have a photographer taking photos of the protest and we'll go on FB live during the event.
Things we legally cannot do (as a heads up): block the sidewalk so that it interferes with traffic, march, or have amplified sound.
Feel free to contact the Boston Grassroots Coordinator, Adrian Guinn, with any questions at [email protected]
▪️About our campaign
This campaign against McDonald’s is a part of our larger 88% campaign.
We are asking McDonald’s to publicly commit to a meaningful welfare policy for the chickens in their supply chain, who currently have no protections in any way. Starbucks, Chipotle, TGI Fridays, Red Robin, Subway, and other major restaurant chains have all made a welfare policy. The time is NOW for McDonald’s to do the same! You can learn the details about the campaign at https://imnotlovinit.com/
We sincerely hope you join the Boston community for this truly historic demo which will greatly help MILLIONS of animals!
For The Animals,
Adrian Guinn
