Event Description

We invite you to our annual holiday food drive and vegan potluck organized by The Hailey Foundation.  It will benefit the rescued dogs at Homeward Bound.  The event will feature Alison Hom (co-founder of SAVE) who will discuss volunteer and advocacy opportunities to help animals in San Antonio. Please join us, Hailey Foundation followers, San Antonio Vegan Society, Voice for Animals and other groups as we gather together for this celebrated time!

We encourage you to bring a donation of food or supplies to help the dogs rescued by Homeward Bound. This group is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of various breeds in the San Antonio area. During the increasingly cold holiday weather and throughout the year, its rescued dogs are placed in safe, loving homes with foster families (NOT in shelters, cages or runs) and remain there until the correct home is found.

The dogs of Homeward Bound will go to their forever homes neutered/spayed to prevent the euthanasia of all healthy dogs and to reduce the number of unwanted dogs being destroyed each year. The organization educates the general public on the dangers of buying dogs from pet stores and advises people about puppy mills.

The food drive/potluck event will be on Dec. 9th (a Saturday night), 7:00 p.m. at the party room of Joel Hailey's home at 106 Irvington, San Antonio, TX 78209. Please bring a vegan holiday dish (no meat, dairy, egg or animal products) or bring beverages (alcohol is allowed). Examples are turkey-less roast, pumpkin pie, and cider. RSVP at: [email protected].
