Event Description

As avid bakers and enthusiastic eaters, the abundance of amazing vegan holiday cookie recipes makes us long to spend December in the kitchen, making batch after batch of delicious treats. While it's not possible for most of us to indulge this impulse for more than a couple of weekend days, we've found a way to share the joy of vegan baking and sample a wide variety of holiday favorites. Here's how it works: You arrive at the gathering with a large batch of your homemade cookies and leave with a beautiful collection of snowballs, gingerbread people, raspberry thumbprints, and more. You can also enjoy a mug of vegan holiday nog, converse with some lovely humans, and design a star or candy cane at our sugar cookie decorating station.

To join in the festivities, please bring:

• A double batch (at least two dozen) of your favorite vegan holiday cookies. One of our organizers has a severe allergy to chocolate, and we're asking that you keep your baked goods chocolate-free. If you've never experimented with carob chips or powder, this might be a good time to try a new flavor.

• A cookie tin or other storage container to take home your selection of goodies.

• If you'd like, you may bring a beverage to share. We're providing non-alcoholic drinks, but you're welcome to bring your own wine or holiday cocktails. This would also be a good option for anyone who wants to attend but feels daunted by the prospect of holiday baking.

If you have any questions or need recipe suggestions, feel free to contact Jacqueline at 210-334-1167. She's always happy to talk with vegan bakers and party people, especially when she needs a break from Christmas decorating.
