Event Description

We will all meet at the gardens around 9:45 AM, plenty of parking. At 10:00 AM we will visit the Butterfly Encounters (This is Monarch Season). Then at 10:30 AM we will take the guided tour (about an hour).

What we will enjoy:

-Topiary garden
-Succulents & drought tolerant gardening info
-Beautiful flowers everywhere
-Learn about the differences and how to use 1.Potabale water 2.Reclaimed water 3.Grey water
-See the resident Tortoises
-See Hoot -N- Holla the resident Barn Owls currently nesting on four eggs.
-Enjoy a free Kona Ice - Hawaiian Shaved Ice

Then around noon we will head up to the top of Mt. Helix at the open air amphitheater for a vegan potluck. We can park at the base of Helix drive across from the fire station and carpool up since parking is generally pretty limited up there. Lets coordinate before we leave the gardens.

You don't have to be vegan to participate, but you must only bring a vegan plant based dishs to share. Remember that not only means no meat, but no dairy (cheese, milk based product, etc). So you will need to have your prepared dish in a cooler, or hot insulated bag, in the car prior to the garden event, so plan ahead with ice packs if you need them.

We will be working on a less waste pot luck. Therefore you will need to bring your own plate, cup, eating utensils, and serving spoons, napkins etc.

IMPORTANT:

Please list in the comment section below what you will be making/bringing so that we don't end up with a lot of the same things.

Salad
Appetisers
Side dish
Main dish
Desserts

If you are coming as a couple or bringing children with you, you may want to bring a couple items, eg. Main dish and a side dish, etc.

This will be a lot of fun. In the meantime enjoy watching Hoot -N- Holla live via video cam: https://tinyurl.com/y9bsrop7
