Event Description
Event hosted by Eugene Veggies.

Why a chili cook-off? Chili seems to be one of the first foods where new vegans realize that they just don't miss the meat. Or the cheese. Plus chili can be so easy to make (perfect for the anti-cooking crowd), is filling, and often is quite healthy. Then to top it all off, there are so many chili variations, it is a food that doesn't get boring. So, the answer is: What else?!

This will be a great event for the whole family. Bring kids. Bring friends. (Just RSVP responsibly please. Last minute cancels are so hard on the host! and guests.)

WHAT TO BRING
* A vegan dish to share. (See more below)
* Ingredient cards, etc: which I'll tell the 'Yes' RSVPers more about via e-mail.

PRIZES!
I've been buying prizes all year and have received some donations from members, such as Leah. Lot's of give-aways at this event--for all ages.

NOTE: We won't be voting on the chili, but people who bring chili get to put their name in the hat an extra time.

MUSIC!
Does someone want to bring and instrument or two? Or maybe I'll play some stuff on my boombox.

FOOD THOUGHTS
We are hoping several people will bring chili! (free of meat, dairy and eggs of course). If chili is not your thing or you just want to help out with some important variety, here are other dishes we will need:

*dessert (of course!)
*cornbread or other bread
*side dishes / appetizers
*salads

EVENT COMMUNICATION
I will be communicating additional important information about this event in an e-mail on Thursday, October 19. If you do not receive the e-mail, be sure to e-mail me directly (preferably not through the Meetup "message" system) so that I can get you that information.
