Event Description

DC VegFest is a spectacular, FREE, all-vegan festival in our nation’s capital and this year is the 20th anniversary of the 1st VegFest in the DC area (held on Sat, October 18, 1997)!

DC VegFest features cooking demonstrations, speakers, live music, free food samples, over 130 exhibitors and more! It will be held again at the Yards Park (near Nationals Stadium) on Saturday, September 2nd, from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm. Founded in 1997 by the Veg Society of DC, this annual celebration is now organized by Compassion Over Killing. The event will have a children’s activity area and is dog-friendly (please note that dogs should kept on a leash at all times).

VSDC, as a top-level sponsor of DC VegFest, asks all our Meetup members to spread the word and join the organizers at Compassion Over Killing (COK) to make this year yet another record-breaking event. An estimated 20,000 people will attend this year!

Hosting the festival is an expensive endeavor so donations are essential to its success. Please consider supporting DC VegFest financially by clicking here.

Volunteers are also needed before and during the festival, so if you are interested in helping, please click here

(VSDC will have its own booth at DC VegFest so see the separate Meetup page to Volunteer at the VSDC booth.)

Please visit www.DCVegFest.com for additional information about the festival, a list of speakers and food demos with their times, exhibitors, and updates.

Mark your calendar now and tell your family, friends, and everyone you know about this year's event. Everyone will enjoy and learn at DC VegFest!

VSDC will see you there!
