Event Description
Join The Humane League - Denver to create change for farmed animals at our December Volunteer Party at Hooked on Colfax!
Our monthly volunteer parties support the local pressure on the nation's largest food companies complicit in egregious animal abuse. After time to purchase a warm beverage, beer, kombucha, or vegan pastry and mingle with the THL community, our Denver Director will provide a brief update on the progress of the overarching 88% Campaign and the current corporate campaigns. We will then dive into actions to support the campaigns, such as phone calls, handwritten letters, social media actions, and more.
Please bring a laptop this month. There is street parking available, and the cafe is on bus route 15 if you choose to take public transportation.
Please email the Denver Director, Zoë Sigle, with any questions at [email protected]. If you would like to organize volunteer parties in your area of Colorado, help brainstorm effective campaign tactics, or in any way play a larger role in the local campaigns, please email Zoë.
CURRENT CAMPAIGNS: This month, we are targeting Darden (owner of Olive Garden, Seasons 52, Capital Grille, and more) and CKE (owner of Carl's Jr. and Hardee's) with an ask to implement a meaningful welfare policy for the chickens in its supply chain that are currently bred to suffer, live in filthy environments devoid of anything natural, and have their throats slit often times while fully conscious. Our detailed policy ask addresses these cruelties and more. **This is not an endorsement for eating chickens, but an ask that the world's largest full-service restaurant company commit to taking an important step in the right direction that will affect millions of animals.**
