Event Description
The Bull City Vegan Challenge (BCVC) is back! This month long event challenges chefs at local Durham restaurants to prepare a creative vegan dish not currently on their menu, and diners (you!) vote on the best after dining at as many places as they can throughout the month. This friendly competition helps give a seat at the table for everyone and encourages chefs to think outside the box when it comes to vegan/plant-based dining.
The April 2018 BCVC will feature 10 local restaurants (Announcements in mid-March!) and is sponsored by Bull City Vegan, The Durham Originals, Triangle Vegetarian Society (TVS), Triangle Vegfest, and Vegans for Peace. Several other local businesses and organizations will be donating prizes for chefs and diners alike.
Our theme this year is SUSTAINABILITY. Not only is a vegan lifestyle the most sustainable way to eat, but we can also make other choices to reduce our impact on the Earth from composting to skipping straws and plastic ware to biking. We will sharing tips throughout the month as well as offering challenges where you could win a prize for becoming more sustainable.
We are also excited to announce that we will have a fabulous sustainable t-shirt available for sale (as well as for prizes) designed just for this event, by Daria at The Durham Originals.
Stay tuned as more information is revealed! And get ready to EAT and VOTE in April :-)
