Event Description

• What we'll do
The second annual Peaceable Kingdom Conference is being held at Bucks County Community College, Rollins Center Gallagher Room, 275 Swamp Road, Newtown on Saturday, May 12, 2018.

The Peaceable Kingdom Conference goals are:
1. Respect animals' emotions and intelligence
2. Increase our reliance on plant-based foods
3. Be kind to Earth, its inhabitants, and ourselves
4. Strengthen the human-animal bond.

There is a $30 per person registration fee ($20 for students) which includes a vegan lunch catered by CulinArt, and a donation to the American Anti-Vivisection Society. Pre-registration is required due to limited seating.

The featured speakers and exhibitors are prominent Pennsylvanian community leaders in animal welfare, agriculture, rescue, science, spirituality, and social justice. The Peaceable Kingdom workshops emphasize the conference goals, invite participants to examine their personal relationship with animals, and encourage participants to be open to adopting plant-based eating in small ways.

Everyone in the general public of all ages, vegans and non-vegans alike, are welcome to attend. Participants can expect to hear thought-provoking topics from Susan Leary, American Anti-Vivisection Society (Keynote Speaker); Crystal Miller-Spiegel, Chimp Haven; Chris Little Simcox, Esq, Bucks County Community College; Ann Lewis, Humane Society of the United States; and Sheryll Lori, Canisius College; and Jonina Turzi, Lancaster Farm Sanctuary.

The conference exhibitors, also focused on the conference goals, share information with participants on how to create a humane backyard, active steps to take to adopt a plant-based diet, how to purchase humane products, and how to support companion and farm animal rescues. Conference Exhibitors include the Humane Society of the United States, Bucks County SPCA, Jewish Veg, The Barn Nature Center, American Anti-Vivisection Society, The Friendly Vegan, The Peace Center, and The Lancaster Farm Sanctuary.
